I sometimes feel like I don’t know where I am. It seems like the walls around me shut closed. Almost like a sliding mechanism. Slide. Connect. Lock. And there I’m stuck inside. There’s so much to look at yet its all so blank. Who would have thought that blank wall could be so frightening. So much opportunity and no direction. Inside me things scream. Direction screams and need screams. But they all seem to fight with one another. I lean towards one decision and another kicks it in the ass. This blank wall is tearing me from me.

no longer unemployed!

This is where im working now.. making anything from tarts to smoothies to salads to burgers.
WAY TO GO!!!

ROME 2009

With a surprizingly good end to Atelier Marieke and I took off for Rome for three days to unwind and explore. We only had one day to see everything and on that day it rained 90% of the time so now I am stuck with the Roman flu and have legs as stiff as anything. But all worth it. We arrived there and the taxi drive to the place we were staying was more expensive than our flight there. OUCH. That night we made our way into the city taking the bus and then the metro and sat down for a nice pizza and glass of free wine (Italian men are generous) at a little restuarant near the Colleseum. The next morning we woke at 6!!! Eager to get an early start as we only had one day. We managed to fit everything in starting with the Basilica and St Peters to the Sistine Chapel with michaelangelos masterpiece. We then took a little cuppacino break along with a yunny sandwich. Made our way to the Colleseum and then to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and so forth.. Amazing time! MUST go back for longer!

wood and textiles..

Working towards evaluation now which is on Friday.. thought id post a few things as they're getting towards the end..

Wood. chair.
we had to make a chair out of 1/4 natural wood, 1/4 of a second hand chair and 2/4 pine.. main aim was to make it as stable as possible so it can be used everyday and stay strong.

wood. diorama
along with the chair we had to make a diorama. we had to make a monster, a 'YOU' (ourselves) and a weapon and then a surrounding.

monster with part of s
surrounding (waves)
YOU. and weapon..

textiles.
for textiles i fell into the reptiles group. we had to make textiles based on reptiles. one screen print for which we had to design our own screen and two 'others', which were completely open to any materials.

inspired by albino croc. latex.

scales from fabric and latex sewn on felt.
